Haifa-enabled egcs-19990221 bootstrap failure on sparc-sun-solaris2.5.1

The build bombs out with:

  case "compare-lean" in \

Bootstrap comparison failure!
toplev.o differs

I have the full tree at hand, tell me if there is something else I can
check/try.
