I second that: linux-2.2.1-ac6, egcs-19990214: "ping localhost" gets just
one packet back.

I'm running 2.2.1-ac6 compiled with egcs-1.1.2pre1 right now. No problems
I can see up to here (but this is a personal machine, no real load).
