Hi,
I use to build new software on our big and fast (no NFS!) /tmp-filesystem,
but I encountered a problem, namely that it always (I tried 3 times with
different configure-options) compared the files as being different. so the
whole thinh didn't work. On a usual filesystem however everything worked
fine. (BTW I have a sun-sparc-solaris2.5). I know, that the /tmp-fs has
some special properties, but I was really astonoished. The reason can of
course be some other, but that was indeed the only difference as far as I
can tell between a succesful and an unsuccesful build.
Just thought, I mention it. You could put a warning on your compile-page.
apart from this it was very easy to compile and install the whole thing.
Thanx for this great work especially on the c++-part.
Bye
Sebastian
BTW: Why aren't you using the standard autoconf-configure? I had to
explicitly provide the option --prefix=''. all autoconf'ed packages just
get themselfs my $CONFIG_SITE-file.
