I have a checked-out tree where I weekly update the snapshot. Now, this week
I got:
# cd egcs
# cvs log gcc/version.c
cvs [server aborted]: no such directory 'gcc'
cvs log: cannot find password
cvs [log aborted]: use "cvs login" to log in first
(I'm using the ext method via ssh, so what the &$%$ is asking
for the password here?)
Even worse:
# cvs update -d
cvs server: Updating .
? gcc
cvs server: Updating INSTALL
U INSTALL/README
U INSTALL/README
cvs update: move away INSTALL/README; it is in the way
Now it complains about almost any file in the same way..
I have no idea what happened, but the egcs tree (actually, trees, as the
1.1-release tree shows the same symptoms) is the only tree affected, so I
suspect its not a problem with my setup (I swear I'm using the same two
commands since egcs was available via cvs...)
After checking out a fresh tree everything worked again. Strange.
