: local-prefix is and always was supposed to be a pathname, NOT a
: boolean. As long as you are trying to convince me that it should

Why is that? Such support is minimally trivial, and even existed in egcs
for a while.
WE WANT THE FEATURE, isn't that enough? Like, this is just a single #ifdef
we're arguing over!
