Whoa there.
First, since i work part time for MS research, it makes me feel good to be
called "A lying sack of shit".
Makes me want to continue my contributions to open source stuff. Like
porting GDB to BeOS x86, implementing codeview debug info reading into gdb
(and adding the ability to gcc to produce codeview info. never got a chance
to submit patches yet. Funny thing is, it had nothing to do with MS,
Metrowerks uses codeview debug info in BeOS x86 executables), getting people
the info they need (IE msdn CDs, whatever), etc. . There are more than a
few people who work at MS who contribute a LOT to open source projects, and
the like. Must be cause ALL of us are sacks of shit.
The next time you feel the need to stereotype, label, and curse a TON of
people, most of whom you have never met and don't know, why don't you just
take a nice walk somewhere to calm down, and then grow the hell up.
Second, you think they stole this code from the FSF?
Are you kidding me?
Did you read the patent?
It looks more like a patent on the BitBlt implementation or from a JIT
compiler. Or both.
In any case, i sincerely doubt it would hold up in court, but i'm not a
lawyer.
Why are you blaming MS for trying to patent things? Lots of people try to
patent stuff. It's the PTO's fault they were too clueless to find prior
art.
Oh, i forgot, we're all lying sacks of shit.
You sure know how to turn guys off to contributing time and effort to open
source projects, don't you?

I'll leave this one alone, since i'm not up for the flame wars.

"Peace, Love, Unity and Respect to all."?
I must have missed where you showed any of that.
Yeah. "Cheers",
