There is something i don't understand here.  The doc says that the
-mv... options are obsolete:

     These options are deprecated and will be deleted in GNU CC 2.9.
     They have been replaced with `-mcpu=xxx'.

Why do you need -mv8plus then ?  Does the doc need an update ?

Furthermore there is no mention of v8plus architecture in the doc,
whereas it exists obviously :>.
