The problem here is this code:

          if (!__gcov_init)
	    unlink (da_file_name);

The HP linker doesn't like undefined symbols, weak or otherwise.  I'm
not sure if this will work with the GNU linker either.  This is one
reason the target isn't using init/fini sections as crtstuff.c has
similar tests.
