I guess you think the vast majority of mac users who install unix software do it manually?

This is not related to your first statement at all. I just wanted to make you aware
that there are actually people out there, who don't use fink or macports at all.
They tend to don't won't to get into the hell of apt-get or yum cycles starting
every working day. They tend to like to have a reproducible dependable
*stable* working environment not infected with unstable buggy software,
which can be used as a shipment basis for customers too.


do you also think more than 1% of people still use lynx? (This is a
trick question, I know the actual stats for the top 10 websites :P)

I don't care. This question is not related to the apparent instability and thus
low quality of GMP/MPFR at all.
