Here is the program. In the makefile, I change the FLAGS to remove
-Ofast and replace with the flags in the PR. I didn't CC everything
because I wasn't sure you want to glue the tarball to the PR.
BTW, if I remember correctly, the slowdown was in 3.2, but not the
mainline (pre 3.3) of the time.
