Re: bootstrap/6796: [True64 5.0A] gcc 3.1: ICE on bootstrap (stage2/xgcc predict.c)

The following reply was made to PR bootstrap/6796; it has been noted by GNATS.

All bug reports about this problem are for Tru64 UNIX V5.0 or V5.0A. GCC
has been bootstrapped with the bundled cc, at least in those cases when the
bootstrap compiler is mentioned at all. I therefore suppose that this
version of Compaq C may miscompile the stage1 compiler. Could you please
try to use Compaq C V6.5 from the Developer's Toolkit Supplement:

 	http://www.tru64unix.compaq.com/dtk/compaqc_ov.html

This version requires the OSF-DEV license PAK, though, so you should verify
its presence before trying to use the new compiler.

 	Rainer
