Does not happen to me with gcc version 3.3 20021107 (experimental) on
i686-pc-linux-gnu
or gcc version 3.3 20021029 (experimental) on powerpc-apple-darwin6.1
but did happen on gcc version 3.1.1 on i686-pc-linux-gnu.
