Because you are changing the editor behaviour for Vim users.  Duh.

It seems since a few months it is not for Emacs, yes.  I don't use emacs;
I don't care.

That only changes the colours on my screen.  You are proposing changing what
my editor does when I press the basic editing keys.  MUCH more personal!
