[patch] restore bootstrap on ppc FreeBSD

Hi,

I came up with a patch a few moons ago to restore the bootstrap on powerpc FreeBSD. It was not ok. Unfortunately my research ended up in nirvana land. Nobody was able to teach/tell me about the history.

Here the previous patch trial:

http://gcc.gnu.org/ml/gcc-patches/2008-11/msg00776.html

Now I try again with the attached patch.

Test results here:

http://gcc.gnu.org/ml/gcc-testresults/2009-06/msg00297.html

Would this patch be acceptable on gcc-head?

TIA,
Andreas
