Personally, I'd like it for 4.2 as well. It looks safe enough to backport.

It's the second time I see such a request in a short time, so I'll say it just to see if I'm the only one thinking this way: I'm quite surprised that, with the discussion going on about how the 4.2.0 release is long-overdue, oscillating between stage 3 and release candidate because of the slow rate at which important bugs get fixed, some people still think of it as a good time to fit in new features.

I don't know what personal incentive you have for this (although I
think I recall a mention of Apple going for 4.2, in a mail about the
ABI stability of libgomp), but we really need it to get released at
some point.
