Ah, yes, I see what you mean. mips64-rtems-gcc defaults to -mips1
but mips64-rtems-gas defaults to -mips3. That's... strange. ;)

OK, thanks. Such a patch is preapproved for trunk. I think the follow-up
discussion shows that both the original t-rtems patch and this config.gcc
change aren't really suitable for the release branches, but that's just my
(not very strong) opinion, and I won't object if you convince another
It would be great if you could mention the change in gcc-4.2/changes.html,
as Joel suggested.
