The right solution isn't to go around the rules; it's to nominate you as
the maintainer of the relevant component, as Steven suggests.  Steven,
would you please send mail to the SC with the nomination?  Then,
assuming that's approved, all will be well, and you will be on record as
the person to hassle when there are problems with libgcc-math. :-)

In the meantime, I will approve the patch.
