Would you please consider backporting any testsuite changes you
install in the 4.x branches for -fPIC/SCO to the 3.4 branch? They
would help my x86 -fpic/-fPIC results:

Sure, be glad to. I already have permission from Mark Mitchell
to backport the changes I am submitted to the 4.0 and 4.1 branches
(as you will have noticed). If the RM (I am guessing Gaby) gives
me permission I'll backport those that fit to 3.4 as well.
The changes adding "static" keywords, etc should be able to go in
right away. We don't yet have dg-skip-if in 3.4, but I'm hoping we
will:
Ok I'll hold off doing the updates till you've commited that.
Just drop me a line when you do, I dont track the 3.4 branch
closely at all (selfishly, since my SCO port changes are unlikely
to be accepted there).
