Re: [c++/19163] status update

Hi Benjamin,

Looking at other alignment issues, and found this bug, which seems to
be ready to go. However, it's not in.

Maybe just a lack of follow up?

Richard, is this now ok? If not, wassup?

I can add a bit of additional info:

- At the time I understood - also thanks to private exchanges with Mark, if I remember correctly - that the real, complete solution required quite a bit of work. At the same time, I managed to prepare the *minimal* implementation of tr1/aligned_storage that I was looking for (basically by following the hint in tr1 itself about unions and avoiding typedefs) and personally stopped really pushing small scale fixes for the short term.

- Then, at GCC Summit, when I reminded the open issue, Nathan vaguely told me that maybe he could work on the long standing issue in the near future: maybe he wants to add something... ;)

Ciao,
Paolo.
