1. Sebastian did first say "And the problem is in VRP" then did not mention 
VRP in his post: http://gcc.gnu.org/ml/gcc-patches/2005-09/msg00040.html.

Sebastian?  (Btw, less terse posts about bugs would not be superfluous :-)

2. I do think there is a bug in VRP, as my longish message was painfully 
trying to explain.  Whether or not Sebastian's fix is real or papering over 
it is another debate.
