None my patches for large kinds support were applied to 4.0. I asked a
few times what should be done wrt 4.0 for such kinds of patches (that
is, important changes), being myself in favor of not backporting this
to 4.0.
If someone wants to do a backport, you're welcome! If there is support
for it, I could do it myself, but that will not be soon.
