OK, so to wrap this thread up, can I confirm that the final position is that you guys will continue to review the DSP intrinsics patch with Chao-ying (their author), so that it can be resubmitted and quickly applied when the architecture specification is published at the end of July.

We are actively working with various compiler vendors to add corresponding DSP intrinsics to their tools, so comments from you now would be much more helpful than in two months time.

We'll simultaneously make efforts to implement the DSP ASE in the GNU simulator, and while we cannot guarantee to have that completed by the same date, the publication of the DSP ASE specification should provide the necessary documentation to support this work.
