That's only true, if the system has the decl in one of the headers I mentioned in my previous post, see ac_includes_default and how it is used in libiberty/configure. We can list libgen.h in there, if you want, but today, that isn't done.


I meant that you didn't mention what you were building when you saw
this problem.

Hum, just about every file in libiberty, when building for the build machine or when building for the target machine when building gcc. If you want a concrete example, let me choose one, let's say sort.o.
