Thanks for this info. Shouldn't we still have to deal with the case 
that gcc-4.0's
behavior (and its structure layout) is different from gcc/g++ 3.3, as 
well as g++ 4.0. Once
the standard resolves this, we can place any new change under gcc's 
relevant -std flag.
