Paolo's never been foolish enough to volunteer for this one... I have,
though.  If I can find the time I will work on this once toplevel
bootstrap is on by default.

I'm willing to help and I did say in the past that I would have liked libgcc to be in the toplevel -- I just haven't ever promised I'm able to do it on my own.


But I can help especially as far as the toplevel is concerned. I have plans to clean it up and enable bootstrapping target libraries, for example. The first step is applying the patch for PR17383, which is queued for 4.1.
