No in the real world out there I have been ding development on systems for years as
root just because the potential of time lost on a screw-up by doing something
unintentional was smaller then the time I would have to waste on working
the presumably ruled "save way". A perfectly reasonable thing to do since most
of software out there isn't that bad as you pose it. And I think it is perfectly
reasonable to expect the situation not to suddenly change.
