I would suggest that the right way to proceed would be ala the conversion to Bugzilla; figure out how to do the conversion, and do it, producing a version of the repository in subversion format. Let people play with that a bit, including doing dummy check-ins to validate post check-in scripts, updating (new versions of) our web pages, etc., and then convert to it after the kinks are worked out.

I would not recommend trying to get the rest of the "src" repository on board at this time. It would be nice to have a plan for doing that, at some point, but that's a level of coordination that I would not recommend imposing on ourselves.
