Mark can probably comment better on what is sensibly implementable in the QMTest DejaGnu compatibility module.


It has a full Tcl parser, and knows how to do Tcl variable substitution. It could in theory be taught command-substitution (the square-brace thing) but that would not be terribly enjoyable. The less programmatic, more declarative approach is definitely more QMTest-friendly.
