Could you please, please, please consider the patch that Alan posted
instead? I believe he checked $target_alias; you're checking a host
definition in the compiler driver. Your patch creates a world of
headaches for people who build both native and non-GNU/Linux-hosted
cross GNU/Linux compilers and expect them to behave the same way.
Similar problems with GNU/Linux hosted cross-compilers targeting
non-GNU/Linux systems.
