I don't think so.  The fix (which is a regression fix) is not going to
be present in 3.3.3 since it is already out.  It is going to be 3.3.4
which will go out long after 3.4.0 is released.  And since it 
will be included in 3.4.1 or 3.4.0, it is not the kind of regression
you have in mind.  It would be unfortunate if 3.4.x would block the
kind of fixes that can go into 3.3.4.
