Attached a patch, but:
- It's a bit hackish
- It needs more testing.
The full plan of removing flag_inline_trees and flag_really_no_inline is just
not going to work for 3.4, I never got any patch to properly preserve our
current obfuscated semantics of these flags. This will have to do for 3.4 if
it is acceptable.
1. The cfglayout part of the patch is not part of this solution.
2. The other part needs the approval of global write maintainer.
I don't object - I just hope this mess gets solved until such time as we
switch to gfortran ...
