Well, I just had in mind that MacOS had a different newline scheme than Unix and Windows had. I was not sure how this was handled in MacOS X now.
Nope, mac is just unix wrt this issue. :-) The world is saner than it was 20 years ago.

It is. I added a note to the bugreport itself. I tested it here on darwin7.0.0. Ok.

Now who is going to approve it? I can commit if necessary.
