I didn't know you could configure it down to 12K.


glibc just didn't do that and created a "market" for several
small competitors such as diedlibc, klibc, uClibc and newlib.

newlib really exists to get rid of the GPL style license _and_ to work in an embedded situation. It isn't small because it wants to be, it is small, because there is no kernel.
