Suffice it to say that I don't think these are obvious patches.  

You're making decisions about how to organize the code, which is to me
more substantive than (say) fixing a typo in a comment, or even fixing a
thinko in the code.

I think we'd all like to see a smoother patch approval process.

Trying to force patches through without approval is not the right way to
go, however.
