The following patch fixes it.
Ok to commit? 3.3 and 3.2 branches as well (first noticed this
on 3.2 branch)?

* config/rs6000/rs6000.c (rs6000_emit_load_toc_table): Don't call
rs600_maybe_dead if !fromprolog.
The patch is okay with me, but you probably should get some additional
concurrance that this is the correct fix.
