I'd forgotten about your post. This I'm not sure about. Doesn't the
ppc linux kernel build process make use of -mrelocatable-lib?
On your section patch, wouldn't it be better to backport the 3.3 stuff
(like Jakub already partly did in the rhl8 branch), I feel a bit
uncomfortable introducing yet another variant of this code...
