Sorry, stupidity leak :-)  Somehow when I posted the message I was
sure the autogen thing hadn't made it to the 3.3 branch.

Please go ahead and install your patch in the branch too.

I'm not sure these qualify as bug fixes, so I'm not sure I'm entitled
to approve them to the branch.  I wish they could go in.  Mark?
