I kind of was afraid, given the "track record" of this piece of
documentation, that you might not get comments on this obsolete stuff.
So, let's proceed as follows: Please resend your patch in a few days and
also post a note to the gcc mailing list (in addition to gcc-patches).
In case you don't get any concrete response, most probably because nobody
simply knows and/or cares this any longer, I hereby pre-approve your patch
for installation (ideally) before 3.3 branches.
