This same code is present in gcc-3.0, and hence this is not a regression
from gcc-3.0. This problem is not relevant to gcc-2.95, as 2.95 does not
have the GC code.
But the test case probably worked there...
Since this is not a regression from gcc-3.0, I am waiting for an OK
before I check this in.
