The changes are fixes for x86-64 that we haven't noticed earlier.
Since x86-64 is a new architecture, we cannot say it's a regression.

I'm not aware that these patches fix a regression on another platform
-  some cannot since they're x86-64 specific and for others, it might
be possible to construct a testcase, perhaps using some new flags, and
therefore a regression.
