As far as I am aware of, we do not have have an official maintainer for
this, though Jeff and I have had an eye on it now and then, and also Mark
and recently Joseph.
I'd say go for it!

(PS: To be on the safe side, I suggest to do some test checkouts of
various modules afterwards.)
