Two days ago I sent a proposed patch to allow libgcc.a to be built for
either a native ia64 build or a cross compiler from ix86. The patch
works for the current front-ends of GCC but won't build the TI versions
of some arithmetic functions that are apparently needed for Ada.
The patch can be used as a temporary solution for building ia64 cross
compilers.
