We should be using the typedef, not `long' or `unsigned long'. I,
rather naively, instantiated what the linker told me neeeded to be
instantiated instead of tracing back the instantiations to figure out
what was really going on.
Perhaps Benjamin could help here? He'll probably recognize these
instantiations instantly.
Otherwise, I'll get to it this weekend.
