It's probably too late now, but... It would probably have been a good
idea to tag the CVS tree (or just the relevant sub-tree) before and
after removing such large components, just in case someone wants to go
back and use them for whatever purpose.
I suppose it's not too late to do it for files that are going to be
affected by the removal of the old ABI (hint, hint :-)
