"Active distribution maintainers" does not solve the problem of a user
taking, say, Red Hat 5.2 and building GCC 3.0 on it. Clearly those
headers are obsolete, for some definition of same. However, the user
has chosen not to upgrade those.
I'm confused. I thought GCC was supposed to be buildable on *any* system.
