We spoke about this yesterday. Jim pointed out that the stupid
allocator was intended to be faster, but that 6% is not much, and that
he would be ok with removing stupid if it makes things cleaner.
I'd also like to point out that stupid.c can't handle certain
spaghetti C code, so it's not just g++ and gcj that will benefit from
this change.
