Why? As far as I know the rest of the world considers the default
name "a.out" to be a charming eccentricity from UNIX's ancient
history. In my opinion this just makes us look silly.
In that case, we should change it on *all* systems. I wasn't arguing
in favor of a.out, just in favor of consistency in GCC on all systems.
(Note that I'm not actually suggesting we change it on all systems, but
jus tthat your argument doesn't justify having it different on one system.)
