Presumably it is the case that they've been right for a very long time
(possibly forever)?
We don't want to hose builds on older versions of freebsd/netbsd.
Can someone with an older version of freebsd and/or netbsd try Andrew's
patch, or can someone check the CVS trees for freebsd/netbsd to see if
those prototypes have been changed in recent history.
