This is illegal in K&R C, and not really very friendly in ISO C.
Just do `digit[1] = 0' as a plain statement.
> + digit_strings[i] = ggc_alloc_string (digit, 1);
Actually, you don't even need digit[1] initialized if you
tell ggc_alloc_string how long the string is.
Change this and the patch is ok.
