I checked in a variant based on experience converting i860,
attached for the curious.  Again, the header files are _not_
checked in, so the new code is not yet active.

One of the changes from the last patch rearranges __builtin_saveregs
to make it easy to call it from within the compiler in implementing
__builtin_va_start.  This means the call expression is not available,
which means there's no argument list to pass to EXPAND_BUILTIN_SAVEREGS.
No one used it anyway, so it's no loss.  Appended is the simplistic
patched used to keep ports building.

Serious port updates will begin to follow shortly.
